Rather not install? The portable zip (83 MB) is the same game in a folder you unzip yourself.
On a Mac? Download for Mac (51 MB).
Windows may warn about an unknown app: click More info, then Run anyway. After that the game updates itself.
What you need
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) for PC. The Steam version works. The game reads it and never changes it. On a Mac you need the Windows version's files (copied from a PC, or downloaded with SteamCMD); the Mac version from Steam is a different game.
- Optional, for skating: Skate 3 for Xbox 360 as a disc image (.iso or .7z), and a controller.
- Nothing else. The Minecraft world downloads itself (about 125 MB).
Playing
- Run the installer. It needs no administrator rights, and it starts the game, which finds
your MW2. (From the zip: unzip anywhere outside Program Files and run
iw4l.exe.) - Open FIND LOBBIES, pick a game, play. Or pick one on the front page: Play now opens the game from here, Join puts you on that server.
Optional
- Host your own: CREATE GAME, make the lobby public, COPY JOIN CODE and send it to friends. Your IP stays hidden.
- Press J on any map to skate. Your Skate 3 disc image and a controller make it better.
- The Minecraft world is the MINECRAFT tab in the map list.
- Some lobbies are for subscribers. Choose ACCOUNT on the main menu to link your game and subscribe.
